*  The Asian Media Forum

 The Asian Media Forum is an annual academic conference hosted by theCommunications University of China. The purpose of the forum is to bring together scholars, government officials, and media industry workers to discuss and present opinions on the latest topics in Asian media. It seeks to take Asian media scholarship from Asia and beyond Asia.

   Begun in 2003, the Asian Media Forum has been held annually as one of the most significant conferences in Asia on Asian media studies and industry practices. After years of hosting of the Asian Media Forum, we have gained a global reputation for providing a place to hear truly enlightening debate, exchange diverse opinions, and learn the latest and greatest in the Asian media world. The Asian Media Forum allows Asian and international scholars and experts to discuss the most controversial and compelling media themes of the year. Themes have included “Global Sports and the Media,” “Constructing the National Image,” and “Constructing the City Image.”

   These discussions have had considerable impact in shaping the dialogue and practices of Asian media production and scholarship. The scope of the forum has reached a variety of fields from all over the world with participants from over 60 countries and regions, and 860 various government offices and non-government organizations. Over the past six conferences, the themes have generated much hype attracting the attention of over 1,000 media outlets. The Asian Media Forum is now known as the place where the controversial can be debated and new academic relationships can be borne amongst media professionals and academics. For over six years, the Asian Media Forum has acted as an environment to bring together scholars, experts, and leaders in Asian and international media broadcasting and reporting, and bring more sophisticated support to the Asian media industry.
